Greening Creation Minimize
Our mission in the world encompasses many different aspects, including taking care of God’s wonderful Earth. The newly formed group, Greening Creation, will offer regular Green Tips to help each of us be a part of this critical mission.

Lenten Calendar 2012:

Click here to open the new Lenten Calendar created by FPCA's Greening Creation Team!  This calendar features green actions for every day in Lent.  Consider this:  if every member of FPCA followed these suggestions for greener living, we'd complete 85,000 green actions by Easter!

Monthly Green Tips:

Tip for March 2012

Try to combine stops at nearby stores into one trip to save on fuel and greenhouse emissions.  Can you drive your car greener in general?  Avoid "jack rabbit" starts and aggressive driving. Flooring the gas pedal not only wastes gas, it leads to drastically higher pollution rates. One second of high-powered driving can produce nearly the same volume of carbon monoxide emissions as a half hour of normal driving.  See http://www.greenercars.org/drivingtips.htm for more information.

Tip for February 2012

Turn off lights, electronics, small appliances, and chargers when not in use. Unplug those with an ―always on‖ clock or standby red-light. A TV set that’s on for three hours and in standby mode for 21 hours uses about 40 percent of its energy in standby mode (http://globalwarming-facts.info/50-tips.html).
