The ministry of deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress. Their ministry is under the supervision and authority of the session. Deacons are ordained members of our congregation who seek to organize and support the caring ministries of the congregation.

Our board is made up of 16 members who have accepted this call to serve. They help to organize and carry out the pastoral care ministries of the church. They are also a visioning body which seeks to understand and creatively meet the needs of our congregation. They work in conjunction with the Pastor for Pastoral Care and lead the Pastoral Care Ministry teams.
