Lombard Mennonite Peace Center

Given the transitions and changes that have occurred in our congregation in the past number of years, the Session is concerned about the sense of being stuck as a congregation due to unresolved conflicts at First Presbyterian Church of Allentown (FPCA). To address those past issues - and as a means toward refocusing on the church's mission - the Session has invited the Lombard Mennonite Peace Center (LMPC) to provide consultation services that can be helpful in bringing healing and renewal to the church, while also assisting in the process of building agreements for the future.

The Session has prayerfully and thoughtfully determined that the consultation process can be very beneficial for FPCA. The Session would, thus, appreciate the support of members and their strong commitment to participate in the process. Since April 2022 several steps have already been accomplished moving through this process. Highlights from each of them can be found below.

Recent Update

December 4, 2022

Over 130 members participated in the Town Hall Gathering on Sunday, December 4 in Fellowship Hall to discuss the final Lombard Report and the Congregational proposals for moving forward.

Session reviewed the proposals, including those where work should begin now. Because these teams are in need of volunteers from the Congregation, we provided the attendees with a form to express their interest in participating on one of the issue teams for the proposals to work on now.

We recognize that many of our members did not have the opportunity to complete this form, and we would encourage you to complete the form utilizing the link below if you are interested in participating on one of these teams.  Also included are the Town Hall meeting handout, the December 4 meeting notes and video recording of the meeting.
